FERN RANDS

Fern Rands of 569 Marin Avenue, Mill Valley, died yesterday at a local convalescent hospital following a long illness.

A native of Oklahoma Territory, Mrs. Rands had lived in California since 1942 and in Mill Valley since 1951. She was a active member of the Sierra Club.

She is survived by her husband, Roderick E. Rands of Mill Valley, and a brother, Alan A. Hurley of Glenview, Ill.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the memorial chapels of Russell and Gooch in Mill Valley. Burial will be at Mount Tamalpais Cemetery in San Rafael.
