JACK COX

The body of Jack Cox, 64, was found Saturday hanging in the bedroom of his home at 490 Camino Del Canon, Muir Woods, with a note in his pocket indicating despondency, according to Deputy Coroner Richard Madigan.

Cox worked as a bartender at Tiburon Tommie’s, owned by his brother, Thomas Cox of Tiburon, for three years.

A native of Monett, Mo., he lived in San Francisco for 22 years and worked at the City of Paris department store as a bartender prior to working in Tiburon.

He was a member of Bartenders and Culinary Local 41 of San Francisco.

Other survivors are a daughter, Jacqueline Cox, and a son, Robert Cox, both of New York; three brothers, Edwin Cox of Angels Camp, Calaveras County; Chester Cox of Portland, Ore, and Eugene Cox of Memphis, Tenn.; three sisters, Virginia Van Winkle of Oakland, Dorothy Harris of Nevada, Mo., and Ruth Shore of Oakland.

Funeral was today in San Rafael; inurnment private. Contributions to favorite charity are preferred.
