Lottie A. Breitenstein Dies At 88

Lottie A. Breitenstein, 2 Alta Vista Way, San Rafael, a 27-year resident of Marin County, died yesterday at a local hospital after a brief illness. She was 88.

Mrs. Breitenstein was born near Sacramento. She was the widow of Edmund E. Breitenstein. She had been living with a daughter, Norine A. Austin of San Rafael, widow of Robert Fell Austin, who was mayor of San Rafael from 1947 to 1951.

Mrs. Breitenstein was a member of San Anselmo Unit 179 of the American Legion Auxiliary and of the Royal Neighbors of America.

Besides her daughter, she leaves a son, Walter E. Lindley of San Jose; a brother, Thomas A. Rodger of Concord, and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Harry M. Williams Mortuary, San Rafael. The family prefers that tributes be contributed to favorite charities.
