Thomas G. Zeller
Age 57, passed away in his San Anselmo home on Sunday, August 25th, 2002 in the company of his family. He was the 11th child of Edward and Eva Zeller of Rapid City, South Dakota. He graduated from Cathedral High School and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Math from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. He later attended Heald College/ Technical Institute in San Francisco. Tom is survived by his wife of 33 years, Janet; children Eric and Nicole; and grandchildren, Alexandria and Gabriel. He also leaves brothers, Edward of Tulsa, Oklahoma; John and James of Rapid City; and Donald of Farmington Minnesota; and sisters Mary Zeller Finley of Norco, Louisiana and Margaret Zeller, OSB of Erie, Pennsylvania, along with numerous nieces and nephews. A devoted environmentalist, Tom was a founding board member and treasurer of the Center for Sacred Ecology in Oakland. He was St. Anselm Parish's representative to the Marin Ecumenical Housing Association for four years, president for two years and a member of the Blue Ribbon Committee. The Hilarita Housing Complex in Tiburon was built during his Presidency. Tom was the proud owner of Zeller's Original Bakery in downtown San Anselmo for two years and sold it shortly before the big flood of 1982. He also had worked for PG&E, St. Anthony's Dining Room, was a Senior Tech Specialist for Bank of America, and for the past five years a Senior Support Engineer for Fair Isaac. Tom enjoyed singing in the Christmas choir, working on his electric car, the 49ers and especially being entertained by his grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, September 2, 2002 at 3 p.m. at St. Anselm's Church, 27 Shady Lane/ Bolinas Avenue, Ross, California. The Vigil will be held Sunday, September 1st at 7:30 p.m., St. Anselm's Gymnasium, 40 Belle Avenue, San Anselmo, California. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the Center for Sacred Ecology or to Earthlight magazine. The address is the same. 111 Fairmount Avenue, Oakland, CA 94611.
