Hans T. Christiansen Dies At 72
Funeral for Hans T. Christiansen, 72, a retired Petaluma poultry rancher, will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Sorensen funeral home, Petaluma. Private inurnment will be at Cypress Hill Memorial Park.
Christiansen died Sunday at a Santa Rosa hospital after a long illness. A native of Goldbeck, Germany, he came to the United States at the age of 26 and to Petaluma in 1923. For 38 years Christiansen owned and operated a farm and poultry ranch at 523 Eastman Lane, retiring in 1961.
He was a 40-year member of the Herman Sons lodge and had served as president. He was also a member of the hall association.
He is survived by his wife, Sophie; three daughters, Anne Burbank of Tomales, Tillie Zimmerman of McDemott, Nev., and Helen Hampton of Red Bluff, Tehama County; and 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services by the Herman Sons Lodge will be held at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to any charity.
