James A. Cunneen
Private funeral services and inurnment for James A. Cunneen of San Rafael, a 30-year resident of Marin, were held Friday at Wiggin’s Funeral Home in Vallejo. He was 79.
Cunneen died Wednesday in a Vallejo hospital after a long illness.
A native of Rhode Island, Cunneen lived in San Anselmo from 1942 to 1972. He had lived in a Vallejo rest home since 1972. Cunneen was a retired barge captain with 30 years service at the Standard Oil Co.
He is survived by his wife, Marian Cunneen of San Anselmo; three daughters, Sheila Dickinson and Jenny O’Leary, both of San Rafael, and Petty Ketron of Oregon; two sons, Arthur Cunneen of Sacramento and David Cunneen of New Jersey; 16 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
