Louis Soldavini, Ex-Marinite, Dies
Requiem Mass for Louis B. Soldavini, former San Rafael resident, will be offered at St. Raphael’s Church in San Rafael, Sunday morning. The cortege will form at Keaton’s Mortuary at 9:15 a.m. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Soldavini, 84, a resident of San Luis Obispo for the past 47 years, died in a hospital there Tuesday evening. He had been ill for a few weeks, then suffered a heart attack and stroke last Saturday.
He came to Marin County from Italy at the age of 12 and lived here 25 years before moving to San Luis Obispo. He operated the Cosmopolitan Hotel on B street, San Rafael, later selling it to the Bottini brothers. He was a boilermaker for the Southern Pacific Co., until his retirement nearly 20 years ago.
His wife, the former Teresa Locati of San Rafael, died 20 years ago. Survivors are a daughter and son, Mrs. Carrie Bottarini and Ambrose B. Soldavini of San Rafael; a sister and two brothers, Mrs. Mary Tacchi, Thomas and George Soldavini, also of San Rafael; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The Rosary will be recited at the Keaton chapel tomorrow at 8 p.m. Friends may call after 7 p.m.
