George Byrne
Passed away at St. Michael Retirement Home on September 22, 2002. He was born in Vancouver, Washington in 1922. He served our country under General Patton during WWII. After moving to California he joined the IBEW Local 551 Chapter, received his 55-Year Pin and worked for North Bay Electric for 42 years. George was also a part of several organizations including the Historical Society, Marin Rod and Gun Club, American Legion, Goldenaires, SIRS Branch #7; and much enjoyed fishing. He was the loving husband of Patricia, brother of Robert Modesto, stepfather of Richard Foresti and Carol Foresti- Abrahamsen, father-in-law of Norma Foresti, grandfather of Alan, Michael, Donna and Joel Foresti, great grandfather of Erika and Michael Foresti. Private graveside services were held on Thursday at Mount Tamalpais Cemetery. Donations may be made in honor of George to Hospice of Marin at 21 Tamal Vista Blvd., Suite 101, Corte Madera, CA 94925.
