Mrs. Maria Lateija Dies In Mill Valley
Mrs. Maria B. Avilla Lateija, a 60-year resident of Mill Valley and widow of a former dairy operator, died yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mary Bernard, at 15 Alta Vista avenue, Mill Valley, after long illness. S he was 88.
A native of St. George Island of the Azores Islands, Mrs. Lateija was a member of SPRSI of Mill Valley, a Portuguese fraternal group, and of Our Lady of Fatima in Sausalito.
In addition to her daughter, she is survived by a grandson, Alfred J. Bernard.
A Requiem Mass will be held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Mill Valley Wednesday at 10 a.m., with the procession forming at the Russell and Gooch Chapel at 9:30. Rosary will be tomorrow at 8 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, San Rafael.
