Joseph P. Rossi
San Rafael native

Joseph Paul Rossi lived his entire life in San Rafael.

Mr. Rossi attended Short School and San Rafael High School. For 43 years, he managed the Duffy Bros. Garage in his native city.

He died Oct. 14 at the age of 81.

His involvement with St. Raphael's Church began with his baptism, and he was an active parishioner there for the rest of his life. He was a volunteer at the parish library.

Other affiliations included Club Italia and Sons In Retirement, Branch 77.

Mr. Rossi is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mable Rossi of San Rafael, and his son, the Rev. Paul Rossi of Star of the Sea Church in Sausalito.

A vigil is planned for 7:30 tonight at St. Raphael's Church in San Rafael. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. tomorrow, also at St. Raphael's.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Monsignor McAlister Scholarship Fund, care of St. Raphael's Church, or the American Diabetes Association, 631 Howard St., Suite 520, San Francisco, 94105.
