Shirley Harris
Passed away peacefully at her home in San Rafael on August 16th, 2002, at the age of 84. She was born in Virginia, Minnesota on May 28th, 1918. Shirley lived in Marin County for 38 years. Until two weeks ago, she had been employed with Wihmar Property Management in Mill Valley for 20 years. She retired due to her health. She is survived by her beloved daughter Laurie Martin, Laurie's husband Ivan, her four cherished grandchildren Christopher, David, Catherynn and Joshua Frydenlund, and their father Jack. Nephew Nick Robison of Los Angeles, sister-in-law Tomako in Las Vegas, many relatives in California and Iowa, her best friend Wilma Head and her family, also in Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother and sister and one grandchild. An avid reader, her enormous interests varied from Tiger Woods to Lord Byron. You could always come to her with any problem and be assured to receive an honest, well thought out response, making you feel as though you were the most important person in the world to her. Per her wishes, a private Family Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 3rd, 2002 at Mt. Tamalpais Cemetery with poetry and her favorite music. In lieu of flowers donations preferred to the Sierra Club or KQED. Shirley was loved and will be missed by all who knew her. KEATON MORTUARY 1022 E Street, San Rafael 415-453-0571.
