BERNARD FORD

Funeral was held today for Bernard W. Ford of Hillsborough, brother of Arthur W. Ford of Kentfield and Norman W. Ford of Bolinas.

Ford, a millionaire and retired investment banker, died Sunday at his Hillsborough home after a short illness. He was 83.

He served as a councilman in the peninsula community from 1948 to 1960 and was mayor from 1954 to 1959. He was city treasurer from 1960 to 1965.

He was born in San Francisco and was a member of the Pacific Union Club, the Bohemian Club, both of San Francisco, and the Burlingame Country Club.

Also surviving is a third brother, Geoffrey W. Ford of Angwin. Ford’s late wife, Marian Miller Ford, was the daughter of a utilities magnate and philanthropist.
