Mrs. J. D. Guthrie Answers Summons

Funeral services were held Tuesday in Oakland for Mrs. Margaret Proudfoot Guthrie, wife of Captain J. Donald Guthrie of the Dollar Lines, who died Saturday morning in a San Francisco Hospital.

Mrs. Guthrie leaves, in addition to her husband, a young son, J. Donald Guthrie Jr. She was the niece of Mrs. Robert Dollar.

Mrs. J. D. Guthrie’s Untimely Death, Shock to Friends

The news of the passing of Mrs. J. Donald Guthrie (the former Margaret Proudfoot) wife of Captain J. Donald Guthrie and niece of Mrs. Robert Dollar last Saturday in San Francisco, came as a great shock to her many friends in Marin county and especially San Rafael where she lived for many years as a young girl.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Guthrie leaves a young son, James Donald Guthrie, her mother, Mrs. James Proudfoot, her sisters Jessie Proudfoot and Mrs. Walter Schmidt (Ethel Proudfoot) and two brothers, Joseph and Roscoe Proudfoot.
