J. H. Drew, Charter Elk Member, Dies
John H. Drew, 77, died at Cottage Hospital this morning after being hospitalized five days. Born in England, he had been a resident of California for 50 years, and had lived in Marin County for 40 years.
A Spanish-American War veteran, Drew belonged to the Shriners, and the Marin Lodge F.A. and M. Also, he was one of the three charter members of the Marin County Elks still living. Serving as Exalted Ruler for one year, he had joined the Elks in 1908. He also had been a member of the Typographical Union for many years.
Drew leaves his wife, Mrs. Freda Drew, and a nephew, Jerry Drew.
The Elks are taking care of the funeral arrangements through Keaton’s Mortuary.
