A Mill Valley woman was found dead Thursday afternoon at her home.

The Marin coroner’s office said Diane Meckfessel, 54, was found hanging in the stairway of her home about 3 p.m.

The death remains under investigation and an autopsy was scheduled for today.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Russell & Gooch Funeral Chapel in Mill Valley.
