HADLEY, Stella Elizabeth

HADLEY, Stella Elizabeth - Is remembered with love. She was born May 14th, 1914 in Northern California. Stella graduated from San Rafael High School. She wed Donald George Hadley and together they raised two daughters, Nancy and Lila in Nicacio. Stella received her education as a teacher by age 40 and touched many lives teaching at Wilson Elementary school while living in Petaluma. She was a free spirit, she loved to garden and cook. She frequently traveled far to see her children and grandkids. Her light sense of humor, her very strong will and her fantastic open ended stories were and are still a part of us. When life gave her lemons she still shared lemonade. Lemons included the too early loss of her husband, many siblings and a daughter. "And too," At 88 years, Stella departed this world in her sleep at 4:30 AM July 26th 2002. "that is how I want to die", she told us. Stella is survived by her younger brother Bill and her daughter Lila. From both daughters Stella has four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Now, joining her husband more than three decades later, Stella's final address will be Mt. Tamalpais Cemetery in San Rafael. A Memorial is being planned for the last weekend of September.
