Victor Gonsalves
Victor Joseph Gonsalves, former West Marin resident, died Saturday in a Modesto hospital after a brief illness. He was 75.
Gonsalves was a native of the Azores Islands, who came to California in 1919. A dairyman, he lived in Marin until moving to Modesto in 1963.
In Modesto, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Elks Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Marin Gonsalves of Modesto; his son, Manuel T. Gonsalves of Petaluma; two step-daughters, Lena Hogan and Mary Costa, both of Olema; a step-son, Manuel Perry Jr. of Hayward, eight grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
The Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. tomorrow in the Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel, Modesto. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Modesto, and burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
