Hugh L. Erwin
Longtime San Anselmo resident Hugh Leroy Erwin died suddenly Friday after being stricken in his home, He was 74.
A native of Montana, he lived in San Anselmo for the last 36 years. Prior to moving to Marin County, he lived in San Francisco.
He was a retired pile driver and he belonged to the Pile Drivers Union, Local 34 in Oakland. During his career, he worked all over California.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Erwin of San Anselmo; a son, Hugh L. Erwin Jr. of Virginia; a daughter Jeanne Bunburant of Colorado and two grandchildren.
No funeral is planned. His body will be cremated and the ashes will be spread over the ocean by the Neptune Society.
The family prefers that any donations be made to the Nazareth House, 245 Nova Albion Way in San Rafael
