Mrs. M. J. Pedrotti Dies at her Home

Mrs. Henrietta G. Pedrotti, a resident of this section of California for many years, died at the family home on Fifth Street Saturday, after a brief illness. A stroke of paralysis, suffered Friday, marked the end, but the victim lingered for another day, when death relieved the sufferer.

With the death of Mrs. Pedrotti, passed another of the early pioneers of this county, and one who assisted in building up the community and rearing a small family, who likewise have become worthy residents of this section. Her husband, M. J. Pedrotti, president of the First National Bank of San Rafael, and one of t he first citizens of this county has the sympathy of the entire community in the loss of his life partner, but may be consoled by the thought that “good” was spread everywhere Mrs. Pedrotti went, and her happy traits of character, have everlastingly made their imprint upon those about her, and these “shall never, never die.”

Mrs. Pedrotti was born in Bolinas 64 years ago. She was the daughter of Henry and Mrs. Strain, pioneers of California, who early settled on this coast. Shortly after her marriage to M. J. Pedrotti, the couple lived in Del Norte county, but returned to San Rafael late[r] in order to place their son, Walter, in the schools of the city.

Besides the husband and son, a sister, Miss Ella Strain, and four brothers, Everett Strain of Palo Alto, Frank Strain and (sic) Oregon and Winfield and William Strain of Red Bluff survive her.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at the family residence at 1:45 followed by a service at St. Paul’s church at 2 o’clock. The Rev. Ernest Bradley officiated at the services.

The honorary pallbearers were Alex McCurdy, Angus MacDonald, Dr. Arthur Barr, Otto Engel, Walter Redmond and E. B. McNear.
