Emma Matzen Rites Tomorrow

Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Matzen, sister of Mrs. Anna Meagor and Mrs. Eda V. Morris of San Rafael, will be held at Welti’s Chapel of the Roses, Santa Rosa at 1 p.m. tomorrow. Private inurnment will follow at Santa Rosa Memorial Park.

Mrs. Matzen, 82, died in Placer County Monday after a brief illness.

A native of Oregon, Mrs. Matzen grew up on a farm near Kenwood in Sonoma County, In the 1920s she owned and operated several resorts in the Russian River area.

The widow of Peter Matzen, she leaves a son, Glenn Freeman of Auburn, Placer County; three sisters and a brother, Mrs. Meagor, Mrs. Morris, Mrs. Lena Thielke of Vallejo and Christian D. Peterson of Pasadena, and five grandchildren.
