Sharon N. (Gransee) O'Brien
1946-2002, was born 16 July, 1946 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin and passed away 2345 hrs., 29 July, 2002 in the Kaiser Hospital, Terra Linda, California. Sharon was the daughter of Orvil Gerald and Elsie N. Gransee and sister of Bill Gransee of Novato, California. Sharon and F. Patrick O'Brien were married 29 December, 1971 in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Novato, CA. During their 10 year marriage, Sean R. O'Brien and Shannon M. O'Brien were born. Sharon graduated from Novato High School in June, 1964. Attended and graduated from Pacific Lutheran University, Tacoma, Washington in June, 1969 with a LIFE Teaching Certificate. Sharon began teaching in Niland, CA where she met, fell in love and married Pat O'Brien. Later they moved to Alaska to teach for the BIA in the "BUSH" in a two teacher school in Kotlik. Then at a four teacher school in Goodnews Bay. After that in Chefornak where Sharon became the Principal/Teacher when Pat resigned to become a Police Officer in San Diego, CA. Sharon then resigned about June, 1980, moved back to Novato, CA. Eventually she worked her way up to court clerk in the court system in Marin County, all the while raising her two children (Sean and Shannon) as a single parent with the assistance of her mother and brother along with many friends in and around Novato. Viewing will be held at Keaton's Redwood Chapel, 1801 Novato Blvd., Novato on Monday, 05 August, 2002, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; also on Tuesday, 06 August, 2002, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Church Services at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church at South Novato Blvd. and Midway, Novato, CA on Wednesday, 07 August, 2002 at 11 a.m. Burial in family plot at Rosendale Cemetery, Rosendale, Wisconsin.
