San Rafael Man Dies Without Achieving Centenary Ambition

Death came yesterday at a local hospital to a 98-year-old San Rafael man whose ambition was to live to see 100.

Antone A. Silva, uncle of Mrs. Walter B. Sellmer and an early Marin and Santa Clara county dairyman, died without achieving that amibition.

His brother, Joaquin A. Silva, of Mill Valley, survives, as well as the following nieces and nephews -- Mrs. Mary Mancebo, of Mill Valley; Joseph, John, Manuel, Mable and Evelyn Silva, Mrs. Isabel Lacerda, Mrs. Margaret Silva, Mrs. Ida Narciso and Mrs. Mary Furtado, of San Jose.

The funeral will be held at the Harry M. Williams Mortuary tomorrow at 8:30 a.m., with a mass following at St. Raphael's Church. There will be recitation of the rosary tonight at 8 o'clock.

A Death Notice in the same paper mentions that he was a native of Azore Islands. Interment private; in lieu of flowers, friends requested to make contributions to the Crippled Children's Easter Seal sale.
