BETTY B. HIGGINS

Betty B. Higgins, a 32-year-old resident of Novato, died Monday, Oct. 1, 1990, at her home. She was 60.

She was born and reared in Rosetown, Saskatchewan, Canada. She married Donald R. Higgins in 1949 in London, Ontario, Canada. The couple moved to the United States in 1957.

For 30 years, she worked in the escrow business, starting with Marin Title Guaranty Co. in 1958. She began work there as an escrow secretary and resigned as an escrow officer and assistant vice president in 1974.

In that year, she began working for Pacific Coast Title Co. in San Rafael, where she worked until she became ill eight months ago. She was an escrow officer and senior vice president.

Mrs. Higgins was past president of San Rafael Toastmistress Club and past council chairwoman of the Sierra Nevada Region 3 of the International Toastmistress Clubs.

Mrs. Higgins enjoyed fishing in San Francisco Bay for bass, sturgeon or salmon. She also fished in northern Nevada during trout season.

She is survived by her husband. At her request, no service will be held.

The family prefers memorial gifts to a favorite charity.
