A 26
HOOGASIAN, Siran -- Peacefully at home in Mill Valley on November 8, 2001, surrounded by her family. She was born in the village of Kesrig in Harpoot, Turkey, of Armenian descent, on July 29, 1903. A survivor of the Armenian Genocide, she immigrated to the United States in 1923 and lived in Massachusetts and New York finally settling in California in 1947. She was a faithful wife, a devoted and generous mother and a kind and generous friend. She leaves a void in the lives of her daughters, Anita Weinert (Ross) and Natalie Hoogasian, her grandchildren Robert Griepenburg (Ilyse) and Suzie Larsen (Danny), Wendy and Elizabeth Weinert and great grandchildren Jack McGuire and Jessica Griepenburg. Our heartfelt gratitude goes to the staff of Marin Terrace for their warm care. Friends and family are invited to a memorial service in her honor to be held at 11:30 am Friday, November 16, 2001 at St. Johns Armenian Church, 275 Olympia Way, San Francisco. Contributions may be made to Hospice of Marin in her name.
