Miss Else Honigbaum Succumbs

Else Honigbaum, 69, Sausalito clubwoman and art patron, was found dead at her home at 37 San Carlos Avenue yesterday, victim of a heart attack.

She was found by a friend, Vera Stump of 50 Harrison Street, Sausalito, who investigated after she failed to get a response to a telephone call. When Miss Stump went to the Honigbaum home, she found Miss Honigbaum’s body on a couch.

Coroner Frank J. Keaton said Miss Honigbaum had been out to dinner Saturday and returned home about 8 p.m. When Miss Stump telephoned her Saturday night, she said she was “too tired” to talk and suggested that Miss Stump call again Sunday morning.

A native of Austria, Miss Honigbaum had been a resident of Sausalito since 1948, and before that lived in San Francisco.

She was a member of the Sausalito Woman’s Club and the Women’s City Club of San Francisco. She also was active in Bay Area music circles and horticultural groups and was known for her contributions to charities.

Surviving is a brother, Dr. Max Honigbaum, with whom she lived. He is traveling in Europe.
