MAXINE L. VAN BUSKIRK
Longtime Mill Valley resident

Maxine L. Van Buskirk, a 40-year resident of Mill Valley, died Wednesday, August 28, 1991, at Marin General Hospital. She was 79.

She was a native of California. She graduated from Berkeley High School.

Mrs. Van Buskirk moved to Marin County in 1942 and settled in the Greenwood Beach neighborhood in Tiburon. She moved to Mill Valley in the early 1950s.

She enjoyed traveling and vacationed in New England, Hawaii, Europe and at the Panama Canal.

A gold enthusiast, Mrs. Van Buskirk was a member of Mill Valley Women's Golf Club, Lincoln Park Women's Golf Club in San Francisco and Oakmont Women's Golf Club in Oakmont, Sonoma County.

She is survived by one son, Tyrell Van Buskirk of San Rafael; one daughter, Diana Herman of La Canada, Los Angeles County; four sisters, Leontine Brizard of Oakland, Eleanore Fowler and Nathalie Cook, both of Sacramento, and Blanche Little of Carlsbad; and five grandchildren.

Friends may call for visitation from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the Russell & Gooch Funeral Chapel, Miller Ave., Mill Valley.

Friends and family will meet at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral chapel and proceed to St. Hilary's Church, Hilary Drive in Tiburon, for a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Mount Tamalpais Cemetery in San Rafael.

Memorial gifts may be sent to a favorite charity.
