William Chandler Langford, MD.
Died Feb. 24, 2002. Born Dec. 13, 1919.
Bill was a dedicated obstetrician and gynecologist who began his studies at the University of Michigan, completing medical school at USC in 1958. Upon completion of his residency he began practice in Marin County in 1962. He practiced at Marin General and Ross Hospitals. He served as clinical instructor at UCSF. He retired in 1988 after 25 years of practice. He was devoted to seeing that all women had access to contraceptive services. This was shown through his dedicated service to Planned Parenthood of Marin. The First Presbyterian Church of San Anselmo, as well as the Cursillo community have been important in his life. He is survived by his wife, Mary, of Novato, his sister Jean Langford of Santa Rosa, son Chris of Portland, Oregon, daughter Lisa Langford Heron and her family, husband Brian and children Phil and Julie of Lake County. A Memorial Celebration of his Life will be held Sunday March 3 at 3:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of San Anselmo, 72 Kensington Road, San Anselmo, 94960. Memorial contributions may be made to Planned Parenthood or the First Presbyterian Church of San Anselmo's Capital Fund.
