Jean B. Sottou
Passed away on July 31, 2002 in Novato, CA, at the age of 81. Jean was born January 19, 1921 in Aramits, France. He served in the French Underground Forces during WWII. He came to California in 1951. A member of the Novato Seniors Club, Novato Historical Guild, Indian Valley Artists Assn., Ligue Henri IV, Lafayette Club, Les Faneurs, and the French Gardener's Club. During his retirement he enjoyed his hobby of wood sculpture, exhibited his work in county fairs and won numerous awards and ribbons. Father of Bob Sottou and Denise Kane, father-in-law of Bill Kane, brother of Jean P. Sottou of Aramits, France, ex-husband of Charlotte Sottou, grandfather of Rachel and Chris Kane. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Jean's Family thanks his dear friend Bernadette Flanagan for her patience, devotion, and loving care at the end of his life. Friends and family are invited for Visitation on Friday, August 2, 2002 from 5 to 7 PM. A Rosary will be held at 7 P.M. at Keaton's Redwood Chapel, 1801 Novato Blvd., Novato. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Loretto Church at 11:30 AM on Saturday, August 3, 2002. Private entombment will be held at Valley Memorial Park. Donations to Hospice of Marin are preferred by the family. Keaton's Redwood Chapel 415-897-1151
