Edith A. Anderson
Private memorial service will be held Wednesday for Edith Atkins Anderson of San Rafael who died Saturday after a long illness at a local hospital. She was 84.
A native of San Francisco, Mrs. Anderson was a reporter for the San Francisco News before becoming manager of her family’s clothing store in San Francisco during World War II.
Mrs. Anderson was a former member of the Zonta International Club.
She is survived by two daughters, Pat Welsh of Kentfield and Jane Figg of Richland, Wash., and two grandchildren.
The family services will be at W illiams and Heffernan Mortuary in San Rafael. Inurnment will be at the San Francisco Memorial Columbarium.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Audubon Canyon Ranch in Stinson Beach or the Zonta Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 5093, Berkeley.

A Death Notice in the same paper adds information: Mrs. Anderson was the daughter of “the late” Robert S. and Emma C. Atkins, and grandmother of Michael and Janet Figg.
