FRANK VOIGHT

A San Francisco man collapsed and died yesterday while digging for clams with two friends on Belvedere beach.

He was Frank Voight, 67, former banquet manager of the old Palace Hotel in San Francisco.

Belvedere police said Voight collapsed below 120 San Rafael Avenue shortly after 11:30 a.m. while digging for clams with Constance Rundell and Robert N. Truelove, also from San Francisco.

Belvedere police and firemen and Deputy Sheriff Richard Borba failed in attempts to revive him. He was pronounced dead at 11:41 a.m. by Drs. James Millimen and Frederick Prescott, both of Santa Ana, who stopped their car at the scene.

Asst. County Coroner Eugene R. Fontaine said Voight had a history of heart trouble.

Survivors include his wife, Kathryn.

The body was taken to Russell and Gooch Funeral Chapel, Mill Valley, pending funeral arrangements.
