MELVIA DYVAD

Melvia R. Dyvad of Petaluma, mother of Mrs. Avis I. Kennedy of San Rafael, died yesterday in a Santa Rosa hospital after three months illness. She was 81, a native of South Dakota.

Her family came to California in 1924 from South Dakota and spent several years in San Rafael before moving to Petaluma eight years ago.

Mrs. Dyvad is survived by her husband Nyss L. Dyvad, three sons, Bert H. Dyvad and Truman L. Dyvad of San Francisco, and Vern Daniels of Billings, Mont.; a sister, Edna Fliflet of Ceres; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Parent Funeral Chapel, Petaluma. Burial will be in Cypress Hill Memorial Park, Petaluma.
