Death Calls For Patrick Ross

Patrick Ross, for nearly forty years a resident of Marin county, died at his home here last Friday following an attack of pneumonia. He was 69 years and 10 months of age.

He was taken ill Monday afternoon upon his return from a walk, and grew worse rapidly until the end came. The deceased was highly respected here and throughout the county and was very well known.

In late years he had been retired from active business, and had given much of his time to the interests of the Municipal Water District, of which he was a director. His term would have expired this spring.

The funeral was held Monday from his residence, with services at St. Raphael’s church, where a requiem mass was celebrated.

He is survived by a widow, Mrs. Alice Ross, and five children, Simon J., William R., John Sidney, and Alice R. Ross and Mrs. S. W. West.

Dear Sir: -

Southern Marin county ought to pay a tribute of respect to Patrick Ross, who was buried on Monday. His services in promoting our Water District were a proof of his fine public spirit. He was one of the earliest advocates of the plan and especially influential in securing public support.

His quiet, modest life was full of human kindliness. To the large group of those who delighted in his friendship should be added the appreciation of the many who did not know him personally, but who have benefited by his public service, efficiently and modestly rendered.

William Kent
