Genevieve Brown

A funeral for Genevieve Maggiora Brown of Loomis, Placer County, a former Marin resident, will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Sands Funeral Chapel in Loomis.

Mrs. Brown died Thursday at a Roseville area hospital. She was 73.

A native of Genoa, Italy, [she] came to San Rafael as a small child with her parents and lived here until about 1974 when she moved to Loomis.

She was active for many years in Marin County 4-H clubs and community events such as the Marin Art and Garden Fair. She also did social work.

She is survived by three sons, Mitchell Martinez of Sonoma, Thomas Brown Jr. and Stephen Lewis Brown, both of Loomis; a daughter, Josephine Martinez of Lincoln; four sisters, Florence Hartman of Oakland, Louise Delucchi of Concord, Theresa Delucci of Berkeley and Mary Dorland of Southern California; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Following services Tuesday morning, a graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. at Mount Olivet Cemetery, San Rafael.

The family prefers memorial donations to the American Cancer Society.
