SALVADOR CONCEPCION
Salvador Concepcion of Fremont, father of Lalani Ragunton of Mill Valley, died yesterday at South Bay hospital of cancer. He was 67.
A native of the Philippine Islands, Concepcion spent several years working as a merchant seaman. He left the Philippines while in his teens.
After arriving in the United States, Concepcion worked as a chef at The Tortola, a Mexican restaurant on Polk Street in San Francisco until his retirement about three years ago. He was a member of Cooks and Pastry Chefs Local 44.
Concepcion lived in San Francisco for many years, and last year moved with his wife, Clarice, to the present Fremont home.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Veronica Tiapon and Marie Concepcion of Fremont, and Mrs. Ragunton, a son, Salvador Jr. of San Jose, and five grandchildren.
Rosary will be recited today at 8 p.m. at the chapel of Roller and Hapgood, 980 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, Palo Alto.
