A. J. BUCKLEY, FORMER TOWN OFFICIAL, PASSES

Sausalito’s former Building Inspector, Albert J. Buckley, was buried last Monday afternoon in Tamalpais cemetery, after services at the mortuary of Keaton and Dusel at San Rafael. Buckley passed away a week ago today (Friday) at the home of his son, Donald Buckley, at Alto. He had been in poor health for some time, which made it necessary for him to retire from h is municipal position.

Buckley was favorably known in Sausalito for many years. He was regarded as a most efficient inspector of new buildings. His high regard for compliance with building regulations at times necessitated his insistence that stronger and better materials be used. It was all for the benefit of the town, and for the protection of the builder – even though the latter might not have figured so at the time.

His wife was the late Mrs. Arteus M. Buckley. He leaves four daughters and three sons, Mrs. John Aylward, Mrs. A. G. Malone, Mrs. John Detels and Mrs. Elsie Rivers; Jesse H.; Ralph E. and Donald Buckley. He was a native of Minnesota, aged 67.
