Rinaldo Calpestri of Larkspur Dies

Rinaldo E. Calpestri of Larkspur, longtime employee of Yellow Cab Co. in San Francisco and a Marin County resident for about 25 years, died in a local hospital Saturday at the age of 56.

Born in Italy, he came to California with his parents when he was 2 years old. Once a resident of Fairfax, he operated the Marin Ravioli Factory there with his father until the latter’s death.

Calpestri went to work for Yellow Cab as a driver in 1927. He became a dispatcher in 1946, holding the position until his death.

An accomplished drummer, he played in dance orchestras throughout the Bay Area. He was a member of Musicians Union Local 6, San Francisco.

Victim of a heart attack, Calpestri died less than one hour after being admitted to the hospital Saturday night. He had been ill a short time before suffering the attack.

He lived at 12 Liberty street, Larkspur, with his wife, Ynez, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Patricia Bartram of Larkspur, a sister, Mrs. Esther Pallavicini of San Anselmo, and two granddaughters.

A Requiem Mass was offered today at St. Patrick’s Church, Larkspur. Burial was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, San Rafael.
