‘Mayor’ Of Gualala
Pal of fishermen On Coast, Passes

George Ciapucci, known to thousands of fishermen and hunters who have stopped at his colorful north coast inn at Gualala, died at 4 o’clock this morning in a Marin hospital where he had been under treatment since last Thursday.

All members of his family were called to the bedside last night when it became evident he would not survive the night. He had been in failing health for several weeks.

Ciapucci was widely known as a sportsman and as “mayor” of Gualala. The body was removed to a Santa Rosa mortuary.
