San Anselmo Kin Of Pioneer Family Dies In Oakland
Edmond J. Wall, of Oakland, brother of Richard L. Wall of San Anselmo, died from a heart attack at an Oakland hospital Saturday after an illness of two weeks.
A retired departmental superintendent for General Electric of Oakland, Wall was 63. He was a native of Canada, and a member of the Oakland Masons and Seattle Elks.
He was a member of a pioneer bay area family which first came to San Francisco in 1852. His mother was the late Hannah Elliott Wall, a native San Franciscan who died three years ago at the age of 97. At that time, she was the oldest living white woman born in San Francisco.
The deceased leaves his widow Danas; a son William E. Wall of Redwood City; two sisters, Mrs. Regina Horton of Idaho, and Mrs. Bessie Pollock of White Rock, British Columbia; two grandchildren; and his brother Richard in San Anselmo. Richard, known in Marin as Dick Wall, is a retired printer who once managed the Marin Journal.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday from Laurel mortuary in Oakland. Cremation will be held at Chapel of the Chimes, Oakland.
