Professor Barker Dies In Kentfield
Death came suddenly at his home in Mann Drive, Kentfield yesterday, to Professor George A. Barker, well-known educator and until recently a teacher both at Dominican College and the College of Marin.
Professor Barker was the husband of Mrs. Ella Frances Barker and is survived by his son, George A. Barker junior and his brothers William H. Barker and Charles Barker of Newlyne, Ohio.
Professor Barker was 69 years of age. He was a member of the San Anselmo rotary club, and before coming to Marin had retired from the Colorado State College of Education where he taught geography for 32 years.
In 1947 Professor Barker came to Marin and during the summer of that year, taught at the Dominican college. During the winter term he taught at the College of Marin. He was a member of Sigma Xi.
The remains will be shipped to Greeley, Colorado, where funeral ceremonies are scheduled for next Tuesday.
