FRANK E. HILL

Funeral for Frank E. Hill of New York, father of Anabel E. Barahal of Terra Linda, was held in New York City Tuesday. Burial followed in Baltimore, Md.

Hill, a native of San Jose, died at his New York City home Sunday after a sudden illness. He was 81.

Following World War I, Hill was an editorial writer for the New York Globe and Commercial Advertiser. In 1923 he joined the staff of the New York Sun as literary editor.

A collection of poetry, he co-authored with Joseph Auslander in 1927, “Winged Horse” and “Winged Horse Anthology,” is still being used in schools.

He is also survived by his wife, Ruth Nickel Hill of New York; a son, Russell J. Hill of Washington, D.C.; a brother, Andrew P, Hill of Stockton, and six grandchildren.
