Josephine Stening Funeral Monday
Funeral services for Mrs. Josephine Martin Stening, mother of Robert L. Dreyfus, Ross resident who has a law practice in San Francisco under the name Conradi and Dreyfus, will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. at Gray’s Funeral Service, San Francisco. Interment will be in Cypress Lawn Memorial Park, Colma.
Mrs. Stening, who was 79 years old, died Wednesday in a Marin County rest home, where she had been for the past two months. She came to the county two years ago, when her health began to fail, to live with her son on Ivy drive in Ross.
She was one of 13 children born to an old-time Solano County family. Her grandfather, George B Graves, who was a cattle baron in Monterey County, came from Kentucky in a covered wagon.
Mrs. Stening lived many years in Yolo County. Her late husband, Fred V. Stening, who died a year-and-one-half ago, was a custom tailor in Woodland. In addition to her son, she is survived by two grandchildren, Dorothy Ann and Douglas, of Ross.
