Le Roy Fairchild Dies At Home

LeRoy Edward Fairchild, 49, of San Rafael, treasurer of Court 10 of the San Francisco Independent Order of Foresters, died yesterday at his home at 3 Wood street.

He was found lying in the rear of his garage about 6:30 p.m. by his wife, Jane, who told San Rafael Police Sgt. Lincoln Borba she had gone to an automatic laundry and returned to find her husband unconscious. He was cleaning the garage after removing the family Christmas tree when stricken.

An autopsy will be performed, but according to all indications the death was from natural causes, Deputy Coroner Harry M. Williams said. Fairchild was pronounced dead by Dr. Dallas L. Wagner after a vain attempt to revive him with an inhalator.

Fairchild had come here eight years ago from San Francisco. He was associated with the IOF for 15 years. He was originally from Portland, Ore.

Two daughters, Electa and Carol, survive in addition to Mrs. Fairchild.

Funeral service are set for Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Williams Mortuary.
