Funeral Held For Pioneer Woman
Mrs. Emma Williams, after an illness of seven years, passed away her Thursday of last week, leaving a sorrowing husband and two sons of one of San Rafael’s pioneer families.
Mrs. Williams came here 43 years ago from Illinois to become the bride of Peter Williams, who had established himself in business here and prepared a home for her. Williams had preceded her by a year.
The funeral, attended by many friends of long years’ standing, was held Monday morning, with services at t he F. E. Sawyer Company’s parlors, and burial was made in Mount Tamalpais cemetery.
Mrs. Williams is survived by her husband, Peter Williams, and two sons, George and Frederick Williams. She leaves a brother, G. H. Burkhart, of San Rafael, and a sister residing in Turlock.
