STANLEY SULLIVAN

Funeral for Stanley Sullivan, retired commercial artist and illustrator, was held today in Mill Valley.

Sullivan, 64, died Saturday at his home at 359 Molino Avenue after a long illness.

He was a brother of Prescott Sullivan, sports columnist of the San Francisco Examiner.

A native of San Francisco, he started his career in grammar school, drawing cartoons for the San Francisco Bulletin. He was a commercial illustrator and for many years had been art director in San Francisco of the advertising agency of Batten, Barton, Durstine and Osborn. For the past few years, he had operated his own commercial art studio. He had lived in Mill Valley for 10 years.

In addition to his brother, he is survived by his wife Frances; another brother, Desmond Sullivan of San Francisco and two sisters, Mrs. Victor Russek of Reno, Nev. and Mrs. Isabel Hewitt of Sacramento.

Burial was in Mount Olivet Cemetery in San Rafael.
