PHEBE GAARD
Funeral for Phebe Luella Gaard, mother of Mrs. Shirley V. Marshall of 95 Billou Street, San Rafael, will be 2:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Chapel of the Hills in San Anselmo. Inurnment will be private.
Mrs. Gaard died Saturday night at Marin General Hospital after a brief illness. She was 93.
She was born on a farm near Lisbon, Ill., and came to California in 1924 when she settled in Santa Rosa. She has been a resident of Marin County for the past 11 years, staying at her daughter’s home.
She was a charter and life member of the Travis Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star in Austin, Tex., and a member of the La Grange Rebekah Lodge of La Grange, Ind.
Mrs. Gaard is survived by her daughter and a sister, Mrs. Estella Smalley of Chester, Plumas County, and a granddaughter.

A Death Notice in the same paper adds that she was the wife of the late Edward K. Gaard, M.D., and grandmother of Sandra Marshall.
