Ex-Fairfax Treasure O達rien

Mass of the Resurrection for John Barton O達rien of San Francisco, former city treasurer of Fairfax, will be celebrated at 10 am. Wednesday at St. Ignatius Church in San Francisco.

O達rien died Saturday in a San Francisco hospital after a short illness. He was 72.

He was a native of San Francisco and lived in Fairfax for many years before moving to San Francisco, where he was a lawyer.

He was Fairfax city treasurer in the 1950s and was past president of the Fairfax Volunteer Fireman痴 Association and the Fairfax Lions Club. He was president of the old Fairfax Celebrations, Inc., a group that organized the city痴 traditional Fourth of July celebration for many years.

He was a member of Elks lodge No. 3, and the state bar association.

He is survived by his wife, Conchita; two sons, Jay Patrick O達rien of Fremont and John Barton O達rien Jr of Berkley; two daughters, Joan Caldwell of Novato and Susan Kelly of Rancho Cordova; a brother, Norbert P. O達rien of San Francisco and seven grandchildren.

Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. tomorrow at Duggans Funeral Service in San Francisco. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
