Death of Dr. Lake on Ocean Trip
Dr. Edward Heels Lake, only heir to the Lake estate, died and was buried at sea, the ceremony being performed by the captain.
Dr. Lake was the son of Louis E. Lake of the firm of Lake & Co., Battery street, San Francisco.
Dr. Lake graduated from the college here and then went east and took a post graduate course. Shortly after his return his father died and he became the sole owner of Lake & Co.
After the earthquake and fire he took up his profession again and for the past eight years he has acted in the capacity of surgeon on board of liners from this coast. He was a Knight Templar, a member of the California Commandary.
He leaves his wife and two (sic) children – Edna Scott Lake, Olive Frances Lake, and Lawrence Eldridge Lake who reside at Ross.
