John Madden, for many years a resident of Sausalito, died at his home there yesterday at the age of 62 years. He was the father of the boys who conduct the Madden Brothers shipbuilding concern and the husband of Mary Madden. One of his sons, Francis Madden was killed in action on the battlefields of France. The surviving children are Bernard, William, Henry Herbert, Mary and Katherine Madden.

Herb Madden’s Father Dead
Quietly closing his eyes after many years of an active and useful life, John Madden, aged father of Bernard, William, Henry and Herbert, Mary and Kathryn Madden, passed away at his home on Lower Santa Rosa avenue on Wednesday. Funeral services were held in St. Patrick’s church San Francisco this Saturday morning and the remains laid away in the family plot in Holy Cross cemetery.
The deceased was a native of Ireland, aged about 75 years and a resident of California for over 45 years. He leaves a wife, Mary Madden. He was a resident of Milton, Calaveras county, for many years and wherever he went he was always highly esteemed for his sterling qualities.
