Pioneer Fallon Family Member Dies At 89 Years
Mrs. Margaret Jane Fallon Flynn, 89, one of the oldest natives of Marin, died yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jack Bones, 66 Billou avenue, San Rafael, following a brief illness.
Her father was Luke Fallon, who came to Marin from Ireland in 1859. Mrs. Flynn was born on the family’s ranch in Fallon, which was named for her family. The Fallons were dairy owners in that area. Her late husband, Cornelius Flynn, was for many years a blacksmith at Tomales.
She lived her entire life in Marin, having come to San Rafael to live with her daughter 12 years ago.
Surviving her are her daughter, Mrs. Bones; grandchildren, Jack Jones, Jr., and Orrin Pitner and great grandchildren, Maureen and Michael Pitner.
Mrs. Flynn was a member of SPRSI of Petaluma.
Funeral services will be held from Keaton’s mortuary Monday at 8:15 a.m., thence to St. Raphael’s church where a Requiem Mass will be offered at 8:30 a.m. Interment will be at Tomales cemetery. Rosary services will be recited at 8 p.m. Sunday at t he Keaton chapel.
