Aaron Shaver, one of the old settlers of San Rafael who had grown to the dignity of a landmark, was gathered to his fathers on Sunday last, having reached the ripe age of 76. He came to this county with his brother Isaac over forty years ago and has resided steadily in this neighborhood ever since. Mr. Shaver was a quiet, self-contained man who attended strictly to his own business and did it so well that he gathered in a considerable fortune. He was honorable in all his business engagements but equally exacting in demanding similar treatment in return, as most such men are. His funeral, which took place last Tuesday, was attended by many old friends, in spite of the rain.
